Actment Co., Ltd. at Medica 2019 in Dusseldorf
The company’s history started in 1960 when Actment began to manufacture springs. In the decades to come it constantly expanded both its technology and product range and became a highly innovative company in the medical technology sector. In the 90s in addition to the plastic processing and other technologies the precision machining of shape memory alloys became one of the core competencies of the company.
Currently, about half of the company’s turnover is generated by medical devices. In addition to catheters, stents, guidewires and numerous other parts for endoscopy of various disciplines, the company produces components such as auxiliary hearts or disposable medical products such as the »Nail Aids« corrective tool for the treatment of ingrown toenails.
The company’s strengths include the manufacture and high-precision machining of shape memory alloys, such as Nickel-titanium alloys (Nitinol). In Dusseldorf Actment will present bent tubes for medical treatment devices, articulating link parts, nickel titanium guide wires welded with stainless steel (outer diameter <0.35 mm) as well as other examples of the company’s Nitinol processing technology.
