Started as a manufacturer of springs in the 1960s, Actment‘s competitive advantage today derives from a unique combination of spring and medical assemblies. Based on nearly 30 years of experience in the production of springs until then, they extended their business frontier to Nitinol products in 1995. Their contribution to the medical industry started in 2005 and since 2010 the company has also provided R&D services to their clients combining their expertise in the production of both sophisticated medical devices and springs. Its competence in molding and heat processing enables them to apply their techniques to a large number of applications such as automobile & electronic components and medical devices.
Today, approximately half of their total sales is accounted for by medical components. Actment offers a comprehensive service from design and material selection to assembly and sales for the medical components and Nitinol devices. Catheters, stents, guidewires, auxiliary artificial hearts and endoscopic parts represent their product range of medical components, and most of them are medical endoscopic parts used in clinical fields like ENT and urology. Most common applications of their nickel titanium are tubes and wires but Actment also has a wide variety of experience in processing this alloy.
They have installed a number of facilities in line with process requirements, some of which are centerless grinder, Nitinol braider, NC lathe and laser cutting devices. It is also possible for them to produce in class 1,000 and 10,000 rooms as an OEM partner. They obtained ISO 9001 and 14001 as a hallmark of their high-class quality management.
Actment has actively involved itself in multiple R&D activities all the time. “Nail Aids”, which is a disposable medical device used to cure harmful pincer nails, clearly illustrates an achievement of their innovative applications. Furthermore, in recent years, their R&D strategy has focused on the industrial application of shape memory alloys (SMA).
