Nittoyumex is a leading manufacturer of ultra-high purity magnesium, magnesium parts and processed magnesium materials. Processing high purity magnesium and its alloys has been a challenge to many manufacturers. However, Nittoyumex achieved their own methods to use ultra-high purity magnesium for development and production of a variety of medical devices.
The company develops machinery for refining various grades of magnesium, from commercially available magnesium to high-purity types. They specialize in ultra-high precision machining using 5 simultaneous axis machines and ultra-precision and high skill cutting technology. According to their customers’ needs, magnesium can be molded into variety of shapes such as round rods, rectangles or sheets.
Their medical, optical and measurement devices are developed in-house, starting from part processing, through assembly to completion.
The crown jewel of Nittoyumex´s R&D are prototypes of bioabsorbable bone plates and bone screws manufactured with ultra pure magnesium. Conventional methods have been known to fail in magnesium processing, because of its softness and tendency to oxidize easily, which makes this accomplishment particularly remarkable.
